I Dream In The Color Of Your Eyes

At first, the soul covers itself in a radiant luxury of sensations. In the end, however, only your goodbye remains.

Director’s Note: It’s a constraining existence, waiting for the gaze of the other to provide you with all your meaning. To wish to live through contact, to forget yourself once confronted with the need of another.
Once that need is ripped from you, it leaves behind empty spaces, absent of the meaning they had yearned for and only just gained.
With this short film, I intended to recreate this sought-after intimacy while also zeroing in on the emptiness that accompanies it, evoking the senselessness in this pursuit that mystifies the idea of extending beyond your own to a point where imagining doing so becomes impossible.
This is a movie woven through dream-like pictures that lack the life needed for them to survive.

This was a project made for an Experimental Film class at DePaul University.
